The creations of Chip Foose

Hott Rodds

In a relatively short career, Chip Foose has created a legacy of designs and accomplishments. Chip was born and raised in Santa Barbara California. Chip's first job was working for his father's company where Chip specialized in project design. By age twelve, Chip already had five years experience under his belt. He had also painted his first car, a Porsche 356.

A chance meeting with famed Tucker designer Alex Tremulus inspired Chip to attend the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, from which he graduated with honors in 1990. It is easy to see that Chip is not letting his education go to waste. He is responsible for some of the most interesting, and inspiring designs that have ever been seen in the hot-rod design buisness.

Chip Foose currently serves as the creative head and driving force behind Foose Design, the widely respected automotive and product development company headquartered in Huntington Beach, Calif., that specializes in many aspects of car modification. These are:

  • Illustration
  • Graphics
  • Ideation model making
  • surfacing
  • and the complete construction of automobiles and automobile-related products.

Today, Foose Design products and creative services are available to private citizens, television/film companies and car makers. Products by Foose are always unique and have an authentic look. This is one of the main reasons that his designs are in such high demand.

Foose also does bikes, as you can see here. And although he does not have as much experiance with them as cars one can be sure that the bikes will be just as much of a thrill to look at as any of the hot rods he has built, except for one. This is the grand master. It's Chip's own personal car. He designed it for himself, and you can see that he takes very good care of it. Although it doesn't look like he drives the car much, he has been known to take the car out for an occasional drive on Sunday's.
